The Turtle Conservation Program

Born from La Cotinga Biological Station’s mission, our turtle program invites travelers to become temporary researchers — patrolling beaches, relocating vulnerable nests, and releasing hatchlings under expert guidance.

Every visitor contributes to ongoing data collection that helps protect endangered species along the Pacific coast of Costa Rica.

Located near Corcovado National Park, La Cotinga spans 145 hectares — 48 dedicated to scientific research and 97 to regenerative forest under absolute reserve. Bamboo and locally recovered woods compose a biophilic design where the buildings breathe with the jungle.
